Magnet Champions
A Magnet Champions is a staff nurse recognized by Nursing Leadership and colleagues as demonstrating a breadth of excellence within the organization and the profession of nursing. The Magnet Champion has demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing the culture and climate that will be required to achieve nationally benchmarked standards in the professional nursing practice at Covenant Health. A Magnet Champion has mastered collaboration by reaching beyond the Department of Nursing to support, not only patient and nursing colleagues, but also non-nursing employees and departments, administration and physicians. In addition, the Magnet Champion has the time, energy and enthusiasm required to support the Strategic Plan of the Department of Nursing and will assist in achieving and sustaining our designation as an ANCC Magnet Hospital.
Covenant Makers Education Council
The Covenant Makers Education Council is an interdisciplinary council that assures that the design and delivery of education services and value-based competencies are directed specifically to meeting the needs of the staff. The nursing education provided will assist in developing a highly competent nursing staff with a shared vision to provide compassionate quality patient care.
Staffing Effectiveness Council
It is the intent and duty of the Staffing Effectiveness Council to monitor the staffing plans of Covenant Health in order to ensure quality of care in a safe and productive environment and to improve patient outcomes through our models of care. The SE council is dedicated to facilitating the delivery of quality care through our patient-centered model of care and assisting each discipline in practice throughout Covenant Health System. The council collects valid, reliable and applicable data that is transcribable into Best Practice standards. We thoroughly investigate data, examine trends, and cause-map when reviewing identified trends and issues.
Recruitment and Retention Council
The mission of the Recruitment and Retention Council is to develop a planned set of activities designed to maintain Covenant's commitment to quality and compassionate nursing care through the recruitment of competent staff. We also look at best practices and seek staff input for creating and maintaining a work environment that will help retain our high performance employees.
Clinical Practice Development Council
In keeping with the CHS mission, vision and core values, the CPDC will work to promote the development and advancement of professional nursing. The CPDC will adhere to the St. Joseph Health Professional Practice Model, which is based on a modification of Benner's Novice to Expert Theory.
Staff Nurse Professional Practice/Quality Council
The SNPP council's mission it the advancement of professional nursing by establishing and maintaining an environment of shared governance conducive to safe, effective, and best nursing practices which are mutually beneficial to the patient, the staff, and the community served.
Policy and Procedure Council
The mission of the Policy and Procedure council is to extend an opportunity to the nursing staff to participate in the review, research, formulation, and revision of nursing policy and procedures. The council is dedicated to the provision
