Respiratory Care Practitioner - Respiratory Therapy

Location: Lubbock, TX

Work Schedule: Full Time - 72 Biweekly Hours

Shift: 12-hour, Nights

Plans, prepares, and delivers a broad range of respiratory care procedures and diagnostic studies. Documents all respiratory care on appropriate records. Inspects, tests, maintains and operates respiratory care equipment. Completes patient billing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care Program at an AMA approved college/university, or Bachelor's Degree from a Respiratory Care Program from an AMA approved college/university in lieu of an Associate's Degree and 1 year of experience.

  • 1 year experience (May include clinical portion of training program).

  • Eligible to meet NBRC registry requirements.

  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner Permit from Texas Medical Board.

  • Registry credential from NBRC (CRT) or (RRT).

  • Current documentation of Basic Life Support with American Heart Association (BLS) within (30) days of employment.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within (90) days of employment.

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within (60) days of employment.

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within (90) days of employment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training - Flight Training.

Covenant Children’s leads the way as the region’s only licensed, freestanding children’s hospital. We are also the region’s first and only verified pediatric trauma center.

This is a great opportunity for you as a respiratory therapist to play a vital role in helping Covenant Children’s provide excellent care to our patients. We offer extensive orientation for new caregivers, including new graduates, with trained and dedicated preceptors.

Some of the areas we serve: PICU, Level IV NICU, pediatric trauma center, women’s services that includes postpartum, OB ICU, and Labor and Delivery.

Opportunities for growth within our department: Relief Charge Therapist, Trained Preceptor, and Senior Respiratory Care Practitioner. Opportunities to serve beyond Respiratory Care Services: ECMO team and Specialty Transport Team.
