When you decide to continue your education, you’re not the only one who benefits. In the fast-changing field of health care, your knowledge helps make Covenant Health a stronger institution. That’s why we encourage all employees to take advantage of our Education Assistance Program. Qualifying participants will be reimbursed for 80 percent of the cost of tuition, fees and books (eight hours maximum) for every course for which they receive a grade of C or higher. Courses may be taken from any accredited school in the West Texas/Eastern New Mexico region.
If you are a full-time employee who has completed at least six consecutive months of employment with Covenant Health, you are eligible for tuition reimbursement for up to eight hours of coursework. The education assistance program is typically for hard to fill positions in the health care field.
Pick up an Application for Tuition Reimbursement form in the hallway outside the Human Resources (HR) offices (Medical Center or Lakeside). Your director will also distribute forms at the start of every semester.
Director and HR approval is required prior to enrollment.
Within 30 days of the beginning of the semester, submit the following items to HR:
- Completed tuition application (signed by director)
- Tuition bill with proof of payment
- Copy of book receipt(s)
- Degree plan
- Course description(s)
If you wish to take correspondence or Internet-based classes, you must get approval from HR before you apply to ensure you qualify for assistance.
